About Lesley Harvey

I studied art for four years at Eastbourne College and I have been painting professionally for over ten years. Many of my landscapes, caricatures and cartoons have been published in local newspapers and professional journals. I have also been commissioned to draw buildings, including restaurants and bars, throughout Sussex and beyond for adverts, place-mats, menus, brochures and Christmas cards.

Portraits, both of people and animals, are popular gifts for special occasions.

My caricatures are increasingly in demand and can provide an unusual and thoughtful present for friends or family. My customers tell me that portraits capture the spirit of things in a way that a camera never can and they can be personalised to suit a particular occasion. Unlike many caricarurists I am not cruel to my subjects: I like to make people laugh, but I always try to bring out the best.

I thoroughly enjoy all aspects of art including helping others develop their skills in workshops. These are run in the East Sussex area and are suitable for anyone, of any age, who is interested in developing their drawing/painting skills. In addition I run children's art workshop parties.

I am a regular contributor of cartoons to our local magazine 'Seaford Scene'.
